Whenever i play an .avi file, WMP 11 will open up, and it will crash. When it crashes, it will ask me if i want to debug wmplayer.exe in VS 2005. That means a JIT debugger shows up. It doesnt show the box where i can send a report or check for more details on the exact error. I dont know when this started happening

Playing the stream in WMP 11.0.5721.5230 under XP is fine. Playing the same stream in WMP 11.0.6000.6344 under Vista fails. Both players are in the same LAN, with same options. Any MP3 file will give the error: Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file. I am having a problemn when WMP11 plays ANY audio (CD, mp3, etc) - the audio randomly stutters and skips throughout playback. This link is posted daily - if you take the 2 Disabling the enhancements has fixed 90% of the problem. I still get the occassional oddities in the playback, but at least now its tolerable.

That behavior helped a lot when upload was slow. wmp11 tries to playback the stream and does not buffer more chunks if there are many breaks in the playback. That makes the listening experience much worse. Q: Is there a setting to help correct this. (no setting the connection speed or the buffer size does not help)
